Chief Criminal Deputy, Scott Blair graduated high school from Bowling Green in 1973. He continued with his education attending both LSU and SLU where he majored in Criminal Justice.
Scott began his law enforcement career working for his uncle, former Washington Parish Sheriff, Willie J. Blair from 1975-1977. He graduated from the LSU Law Enforcement Academy early on and attended several other law enforcement schools.
He has more than fourteen years of experience at the Washington Parish Sheriffs Office and has served under three different Sheriffs.
During his fourteen-year career, Chief Blair has worked his way up serving as a Jailer, a Dispatcher and a Patrolman. He served the last eleven years as the Chief Criminal Deputy. He was appointed as Sheriff pro-tem and served in that position for five months pending such time a special election could be held to fill the vacated position of his cousin, Sheriff Duane Blair.
He is a certified Voice Stress Analyzer, an accomplished Tang Soo Do Black Belt and a certified instructor. He currently serves as the Director of the Washington Parish Drug Taskforce and Street Crimes Action Taskforce. He is a member of the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association.
In addition, Chief Blair serves on the Board of the Washington Parish Fair Association and the Keep Washington Parish Beautiful Committee.
Scott is a member of the Varnado United Methodist Church in Varnado, Louisiana
